CNN claims Hillary Clinton as Democratic debate winner despite poll showing Bernie Sanders is the clear winner

CNN declared Hillary Clinton the winner of the first Democratic debate that was held in Las Vegas on October 13 despite several internet polls showing Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders won by a landslide.
CNN, who hosted the debate, ignored the results of their own Facebook poll which showed Sanders won 81 percent to Clinton’s 13 percent.
Instead, the network announced Clinton the winner based on a CNN/ORC poll.
The CNN/ORC poll reportedly surveyed 1,028 adults via the telephone, asking participants how they felt about “some people in the news.”
Participants were asked if they were ‘Favorable, Unfavorable, Never heard of, or had No opinion’ on Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb (who has dropped out of the race), Lincoln Chafee (who has since dropped out as well) and Larry Lessig.
Is it routine to question respondents about an individual who isn’t a candidate? We’re not sure; however, one explanation could be that it’s a tactic to dilute the numbers away from Sanders, whom CNN clearly does not favor.
The CNN/ORC poll showed Clinton standing at 45 percent in the race for the Democratic nomination, with Sanders coming in second at 29 percent.
CNN’s own Facebook poll resulted in completely different numbers.
CNN’s Facebook poll vastly differs than ORC poll
Facebook users were asked to “live vote” during the debate how they felt on certain issues. The first question asked, “Who is winning the debate on foreign policy?” Facebook users gave Sanders 59 percent, Clinton 26 percent, Webb 10 percent, O’Malley 3 percent and 2 percent for Chafee.
Users were then asked, “Who is winning the debate on economic issues?” They answered Sanders at 72 percent, Clinton 20 percent, Webb 4 percent, O’Malley 3 percent and Chafee with 1 percent.
Thirdly, users were asked, “Who is winning the debate?” They answered Sanders with 75 percent, Clinton 18 percent, O’Malley 3 percent and Chaffee with 1 percent.
“That is by a huge margin,” says CNN’s Don Lemon in response to Sanders getting 75 percent of the vote by Facebook users.
Time magazine, MSNBC, Daily Kos and the Drudge Report also conducted polls showing Sanders beating Clinton by a large margin.
Time magazine’s poll shows Sanders winning with 60 percent of the vote, Webb in second with 26 percent and Clinton in third with 12 percent.
MSNBC’s poll showed Sanders winning with 67 percent of the vote. Daily Kos’ poll reflected similar numbers showing Sanders winning with 58 percent of the vote compared to Clinton’s 36 percent.
Lastly, the Drudge Report poll showed Sanders coming in at 54 percent of the vote, Webb in second with 25 percent and Clinton in third with 9 percent.
Internet says Sanders won Democratic debate
So far we’ve counted five polls showing that Sanders won, including one of CNN’s own polls, yet the network insists Clinton had the “best performance and is the strongest candidate in the race.”
After broadcasting Clinton won the debate, rumors began to swirl that CNN had deleted their Facebook poll in attempt to cover up the fact that Sanders won the debate. Those rumors have been squashed however as the CNN Facebook is still up (linked above).
What CNN is guilty of doing, as well as several other mainstream media networks, is lying about who won. The New York Times, the New Yorker, Politico, Slate, New York Magazine and Vox all reported that Clinton won the first Democratic debate.
This comes as no surprise though, since Clinton controls the majority of the media.
This was demonstrated when she convinced The New York Times to alter both the content and headline of an unflattering article about her illegal use of a private email account in which she shared sensitive government information.
NYT’s original headline read: “Criminal Inquiry Sought in Hillary Clinton’s Use of Email,” which they later changed to “Criminal Inquiry Is Sought in Clinton Email Account.”
The changes were exposed by Breitbart.
NYT changed their opening paragraph too, which originally read:
Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday.
NYT then edited the story make Clinton appear as if she was only a bystander to the “illegal activity.”

NYT failed to add a correction or update to the story until after they were exposed by Breitbart.
NYT reporter Michael Schmidt admitted the request for changes were made by the “Clinton camp.” Schmidt said he felt the request for changes were reasonable, so he promptly made them.
