How mainstream media shapes reality by controlling the collective conversation

For decades, the Democratic Party has been working tirelessly to build a relationship with the mainstream media in hopes that political commentators and newspaper columnists will help them not only advance their radical agenda, but also dismantle the conservative movement once and for all.

Needless to say, the Democratic Party has succeeded in forming this relationship. In fact, there is a strong case to be made that the mainstream media today is an appendage of the Democratic Party, just as the Environmental Protection Agency is an appendage of corporate interests.

It becomes more and more obvious with each passing day that the mainstream media controls the political narrative in the United States, and therefore has a tremendous amount of control over the direction of our country. In addition to corrupt, out-of-control politicians, the liberal mainstream media is one of the main reasons why the national debt is as high as it is today, why the southern border still has yet to be secured, why so many Americans buy into the myth of man-made global warming, and why the government has been steadily growing since the beginning of the 20th century. (Related: The mainstream media won’t cover the failing socialist country of Venezuela because it exposes the faults of socialism.)

Writing for the Waking Times, contributor Paul A. Philips recently addressed this concept in an article entitled, How The Mass Media Controls Consensus Reality. Philips argued that the “theater of illusion” world that we live in can be attributed to two things: 1) the “hidden controllers” who run the planet and who have “managed to manipulate the mass media and in effect control consensus reality” in order to “produce the desired behavioral patterns; thoughts, opinions, attitudes, [and] social norms,” and 2) the fact that “the majority of the human population has allowed itself to be deceived through ignorance, deception, stupidity, chronic apathy or a serious lack of curiosity and questioning.”

Phillips explained that these “hidden controllers” within the mainstream media “regard the human population as nothing more than sheep incapable of looking after themselves.” Indeed, this is the belief that is held not just by Leftists within the media, but also by the entirety of the Democratic Party.

On issue after issue, the liberals prove that they see the American people as incompetent fools who need assistance from the government in order to succeed in life. They push for more gun laws and regulations because they think the people are too stupid to handle them on their own. They support the idea of more environmental regulations because the people aren’t smart enough to keep the earth clean when left to themselves. Michelle Obama launched her famous school lunch program because she and her ilk feel that parents are too dumb to feed their kids healthy food. The examples are endless.

The role of the mainstream media is to help the Democrats advance these beliefs, and ultimately create the illusion that the American people cannot obtain success without the government holding their hands. Furthermore, the media has developed something of a reputation for repeating lies over and over again until people start to believe them, almost as if they turn fiction into reality. (Related: The mainstream media has flushed the last shred of credibility down the toilet with a fake news marathon about James Comey and Donald Trump.)

Perhaps the most significant example of this is the media’s insistence that Donald Trump and his campaign team colluded with Vladimir Putin and the Russians during the 2016 election. Even though there is no evidence for the claim whatsoever, liberal television hosts and newspaper columnists continue to lie and tell the American people that the Russians assisted Trump and swayed the outcome of the election. In this way, they are controlling much more than what is broadcasted over the airwaves; they are controlling the public’s perception, and ultimately the direction of the country.
